Welcome to Spooky Art Exchange!

What are secret events?

Secret events are based on trading art between participants. You receive a wishlist from your recipient, you draw a gift for him and you receive a gift but… you don’t know who draws for you until the special day.

It's Halloween coming soon, so we encourage you to keep the spoooooooky mood in your drawings. However Halloween isn't only about spooky-scary things: cute and joyful ideas are also very welcome!
But it's all up to your imagination, creativity and of course, your recipient's wishlist ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°).

How to join the event?
You have to be a member (if you aren’t, look at “How to join the group”)
You can join only if your gifts from the previous events were finished.
Send your wishlist via note to the group
Wait for the answer!

How to join the group?
Send a note to the group with 3-4 of your recent drawings.
(If you're here from the note/invitation, you don't have to show me your artworks. Just click "Join our group" button!)
Since we want to keep a quality level of art in our group, we'll note you back and if you'd be accepted, we will send you an invitation to the group. (It doesn't mean that we expect professional participants with advanced skills but we want you to do your best with your secret-drawing.)
After you receive an invitation, write a note to the group with your wishlist (post it on sta.sh, write a journal or tumblr post).



Wishlist
Write a wishlist and put it on your sta.sh, in deviantart's journal or a tumblr post.
You can ask for your Original Character or a fanart of anything.
Please, put minimum three options in your wishlist. All participants have to choose ONE of them.
You can ask max. for two characters in one drawing.
Descriptions of your characters' personalities and reference pictures are a must. (Some informations may be very helpful to your secret-person )
You can change your wishlist till September 20th Then only small changes like more pictures of the characters, which are already there.
Mention in your wishlist which themes you would like to see in the gift for you: Spooky/Cute/Gore etc. If you won't write anything that means you're giving a free hand to your Spooky Secret Pumpkin.
If you've got any problems with your recipient's wishlist - note us.

 
Gifts

We don't accept chibis or bases - only full- and half-bodies drawn by YOURSELF.
Your drawing must have a background even if it's a simple one.
No sketches! Only finished artworks.
Both, traditional and digital drawings are welcome.
Do your best!



General

No swapping! With your application you agree that you'll draw anything we choose for you.
Remember that as many participants take part in this event, as many different styles and skills there are.
If you finish your drawing, note us with a link to your sta.sh.
DON'T publish your drawing until we will let you do it!
We understand that some people might be late with their gifts but PLEASE stay in conntact with us! Note us if you know that you cannot deliver your gift on time. However, it would be nice if we can deliver every gift on the Halloween so please, do your best We can give you a time extension. But if you won't inform us or if your delay will take too long (above one month), we will add you to our black list.
We will try to match you up with someone with similar drawing skills. (Still we will use www.random.org/lists/).
If you won't receive your gift on time we'll organise some surrogate artists, so don't worry, you'll get your gift not matter what!

D e a d l i n e s
September 2nd to September 20th: Accepting participants and their wishlists. Remember! Even if you’re a member, if we don’t receive your wishlist till September 20th, you won’t take a part in the event.
September 21st Assignment distribution. will send you a note with the user’s name you’ll be drawing for.
September 21st - October 30th Time for drawing! When you finish your drawing, DON’T publish it anywhere yet. First upload it to your sta.sh and send the link in private message to the group
October 31st It's Halloween! Delivering your gifts. Please, try to upload your gift to your gallery on that time. If not - inform us about it and upload it as soon as it’s possible.
If you won’t inform us at all, you’ll get a warning and we will keep an eye on you ( ͡o ͜ʖ ͡o)


B l a c k  l i s t

You don’t want to be here.
But you’ll be here if you don’t send us ANY message about your delay till October 30th.
We can give you time extension (you have to note us how long you’ll need before the deadline) but one month is maximum. In other case we’ll start looking for surrogate artists and the black list is yours.
We understand the special circumstances though. If you inform us, together we can figure something out!
Black list = you’re banned from taking part in this group’s events in the future.
